Rohana Gems was founded by the late Mr. Rohana Jayasinghe in 1974, a renowned gem businessman and a veteran of the industry. He had a humble beginning with a small team of miners in Kahawatta, Ratnapura. Over the last 48 years, Rohana Gems has thrived as an international level business that covers almost all aspects including mining, heating, cutting, faceting, buying, and selling. Since his demise, one of his sons, who was a senior manager at the time became the managing director and partnered with two individuals who are experts in the industry and continuing the business with an ambition to make Rohana Gems a world-renowned brand.
